What are the symptoms of anxiety?

There are two types of anxiety symptoms which could occur if you do indeed have this condition. There are physical symptoms and there are also psychological symptoms. Most commonly, someone experiencing anxiety in their lives would experience a mix of the two, but it is very possible for you to only experience one of the other.

The physical symptoms of anxiety are caused when your brain send messages to the parts of the body which react when you get into the fight or run situations. When your brain is a little off these messages could be sent in reaction to any small situations that aren't really a life or death event. These events can be anything from being around a lot of people, a job interview, or any other typical event such as these.

When this happens, your heart, lungs, and many other parts of the body perform faster than usual and can cause some symptoms to occur. Anxiety symptoms are not life threatening, but they can be very scary and sometimes painful.

The psychological symptoms occur in result of the imbalance between your brain and you body parts. When they are not working together smoothly you will most likely experience one or a few of the symptoms listed below.

Some of the physical symptoms include the following…

  • Experiencing constant urination

  • Dryness in your mouth

  • Rapid heartbeat and/or sweating

  • Diarrhea

  • Trouble swallowing

  • Feeling dizziness or trouble balancing

  • Chest discomfort or an intense pounding sensation

  • Shortness of breath

Some of the psychological symptoms include:

  • Feeling irritable or angry constantly

  • Difficulty sleeping (Insomnia)

  • Not being able to concentrate and loosing interest quickly

  • The fear of madness

  • Feeling as if you aren't real or not in control of what you do

If you are experiencing any of the above symptoms then you more than likely are experiencing at least a mild form of anxiety and it should be looked into.
